Whalen's Horseradish was established in 1925 in Ballston Spa in Saratoga County, New York. Whalen's Horseradish continues to be the best homemade, hand prepared, coarse-ground horseradish commercially available in Saratoga Springs area, Western, NY and at loval craft breweries.

Our horseradish roots come from a farm in the reputed horseradish capital of the United States, Collinsville, Illinois. The horseradish roots are trucked to us in 50-pound burlap bags, dirt and all, in 1,000 pound horseradish root shipments.

Each horseradish root is washed, cut up, peeled and imperfections are removed--all by hand!

Due to the time and labor involved in preparing our freshly ground horseradish products, wholesale distribution of Whalen's Horseradish is limited to a very few select deli's, quality meat markets, specialty shops, and well-established restaurants in Upstate NY. Our retail store "Whalen's Root Cellar" is located at our main manufacturing site; 1710 Rt. 29, Galway, NY. Whalen's Root Cellar offers our complete line of horseradish products as well as local pasture raised beef, chicken and pork products. You can also shop for specialty sauces, herbs, chocolates, pet care products as well as assorted local arts and crafts.
