General information

F&S Produce is a privately held company that was founded in 1981. Today, we operate from two facilities in Rosenhayn, NJ with over 125,000 sq. ft. of processing space. In addition, we own and operate Pipco Transportation, which has about 30 tractors and over 50 trailers and services the entire Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. We also own and operate Mid-Eastern Cold Storage, which consists of a 60,000 s.f. warehouse capable of blast freezing and frozen storage.

F&S Produce was founded by Sam Pipitone, Jr., who followed his father and grandfather into the family’s southern New Jersey farming business. We moved to our current location at 913 Bridgeton Avenue in Rosenhayn, NJ, and constructed a 20,000 sq. ft. production facility there in 1988. An additional 10,000 sq. ft.-production area was added in 1999 that included a new quality assurance laboratory, offices for administrative staff, and improved access areas for plant personnel. An increase in sales necessitated yet another expansion in 2001, when an additional production facility was purchased at 730 Lebanon Road in Rosenhayn, which added a 55,000-sq. ft. processing operation and allowed us to expand into the retail market. In 2005, we added an IQF freezer system to process and freeze a variety of fruit and vegetable items, and in 2010 we added a USDA-inspected operation that enables us to process salads, sandwiches and wraps that contain meat and/or poultry. In 2011, we completed another major expansion, with a 25,000 sq. ft. addition that enables additional capacity for processing and packaging fresh-cut, value-added vegetables and side dishes. This expansion also gives us the ability to perform case picking, cross docking and forward distribution for our customers.
